faq
the app is free. the portal is $89.
that's per gym, per month, in beta. setup, logins, your data and who sees a climber's climbs are all below. if yours is missing, email info@go-pbl.com.
price and terms
what does it cost?
$89 a month per gym during beta, locked for as long as you stay, and the first two months are free. the list price after beta is $149. no per-climber fees.
is there a contract?
no. pbl is month to month, and you can cancel any time, including during the two free months.
what does beta mean?
early access. we set your gym up with you, and what your team asks for goes on the feedback board in both apps, where you watch it ship.
setup and your team
how does setup work?
four steps in the portal: gym details, routes (all at once, or new ones as you set them), the floor plan if you use one, then invite your team. we're there for each step, in person if you want.
do we need software, or is a whiteboard enough?
a whiteboard plans a wall just fine. it can't count sends or show which routes went quiet. once you set across rooms or swap every week, that's the part pbl carries.
do i need my climbers on the app first?
no. the set calendar and floor plan work from day one with your setters alone. sends and ratings arrive as climbers join, and the app is free, so the ask to them is small.
do i need hardware or tags?
none. climbers log on their phones, and the portal runs in a browser on a laptop or tablet.
does it replace Rock Gym Pro or Approach?
no. pbl runs alongside your front desk, and nothing flows between them today. tell us what you run.
do additional users cost extra?
no. the price is per gym, and each person you add is free, with their own login and one of five roles, from owner down to read-only viewer.
i run more than one gym. what does that cost?
$89 a month for each one in beta, and with enough gyms the price per gym can come down, so talk to us. one login covers them all, with one dashboard per gym.
climber logs and your data
what do my climbers' logs tell me?
which routes pull traffic, which went quiet, whether the grade landed and how many climbers came back this month. the more climbers log, the more you see.
are ratings just the loudest climbers?
no. only climbers who logged the route can review it, and the senders' levels sit beside your grade. the grade stays your call.
who owns the data?
your routes are yours, and sharing is always the climber's call. the sends, ratings and reviews on your routes show in your portal, and each climber keeps their own log. no export button yet: ask us for a copy.
for climbers
who sees my climbs?
strangers never see where you're climbing live. buddies do, followers see visits once they end, and gym staff see climbs on their routes. reviews show your name. sharing and the gym wall are off until you turn them on.
what if i switch sharing off?
you pick. pull what you already shared from everyone's feeds, or leave it up. gym wall posts come down either way.
is it free?
yes. gyms pay for the portal, so logging climbs, rating routes and seeing your level cost you nothing.
which phones?
iPhone, through TestFlight, the free app that installs betas. join the iPhone beta list from the app page and your invite comes by email when a spot opens.
my gym isn't on pbl.
log there anyway: add it as a custom gym with its own routes. then send your gym to go‑pbl.com/portal, where gyms join the beta.
i already log my climbs in another app. why pbl?
a level that's real: worked out from six months of your sends, one per discipline, with a date on it. and if your gym is on pbl, your climbs reach the people who set your routes.
how do you say pbl?
pebble. it started as a personal benchmark logger, and the letters stuck.
a few gyms get in first.
pbl is in beta, and we're taking a handful of gyms. the four people who built it set yours up with you. two months free, then $89 a month, locked while you stay. sound like your gym? say hi.
